Two regional officials told The Associated Press that Riyadh has approached France, Britain, Pakistan and Egypt about providing air-defense support as missile and drone attacks continue. The development points to a wider problem emerging across the Middle East.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oman and Egypt are involved in efforts aimed at reducing tensions, while Oman recently hosted discussions involving US and Houthi representatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That creates an unusual combination of military preparation and diplomatic engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Saudi Arabia is seeking additional defenses while regional governments are simultaneously trying to prevent the conflict from expanding further.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
